hai Chikku less chance to get govt college.more students are on the same row aiming Govt collge....but hope for the good thing..may be i am wrong.becoz it depends on your community,and number of students targetting the subjects that you're interested in. Candidates should submit separate application for each category as given below :

GATE Category
GATE A ( Engineering / Technology ) Category :
Candidates who have a valid GATE score with qualifying marks for assistantship in the appropriate discipline of Engineering / Technology.
GATE B ( Engineering Science ( XE ) / Life Science ( XL ) Category :
Candidates who have a valid GATE score with qualifying marks for assistantship in Engineering Science ( XE ) and Life Science ( XL ) papers.
Candidates should have also appeared for TANCET 2011.

GOVT college:SALEM
GOvt college:TIRUNELVELI

and GOVT clg COVAI less chance there.BEcoz they give more important for GATE score.
and u will get top private clgs..

Hai sathya i dont know about date of issuing the councelling application.and when will be the counseling schedule be announced.and For your tancet score u have chance to get govt collegs.and in private clgs like ESWARI,SAIRAM,Vellammal,R.M.K clg.kumaraguru clg ,kongu,etc., are possible. and sathya for (E&I) PSG,kumaraguru,kongu clgs are best.But PSg is rare chance to get,u concentrate on kumaraguru,kongu,vellmal.and if u want clgs in chennai concentrate on vellamal,R.M.K and panimalar also possible..
